Hot Pink Boiled Wool Robe (S-XXL)
Sometimes one gets lucky and finds a unicorn. This fabric is one of those, a light layer, unlined, soft, and warm.
Because it is boiled wool, it has a slight stretching and a great drape.
There are some imperfections on this fabric. Occasionally, I noticed a dark spot on the fabric which is in the weave, not a stain on the fabric. They are very small and I did not notice them in the cutting. I have adjusted the price accordingly, reduced it by about 10% (original price $480, reduced price $430). Not all garments have imperfections and none of the ones that do, are in very obvious places.
This gown is NOT LINED, but it is 90% wool, 10% nylon. It's a modern wool, ex-designer, with a soft and smooth hand feel. It's tightly woven.
It is great for the in between seasons for those of us in a colder climate, or a light warm layer for those who have some heating. If you live a warmer climate and just want a warm light layer in the cooler months, it's perfect.
The photos are reasonably good but I was unable to capture the true colour of this garment. It is hot pink, not red.
It is a simple wrap and tie style gown with no buttons, but there are inside ties so the gown won't slip open.
I have not stitched around the collar on this dressing gown. It has been understitched and steam pressed.
After a few washing tests, I can confidently tell you that it is hand washable in wool wash. It will come with detailed instructions. There is no noticeable shrinkage if you follow instructions and no excess dye in the wash. Yay!
