Mens Maroon 100% boiled wool, fully lined - Small, Med, Large, XLarge

A$560.00

Maroon is always a great colour for men. This one is a rich maroon with a coordinating paisley lining. The wool is a boiled wool that has been felted onto a knitted wool layer. The layers are stitched and bonded. The result is a heavy wool gown, but not super heavy. It is a local purchase from a company in Melbourne that saves fabric from landfill and sells it to small makers like me. The pics have come out lighter than the actual colour. It is deeper and richer in colour in person.

The origin of the fabric is New Zealand and is 100% wool. It is a dry clean fabric only.

It’s available in all sizes and I have more of this fabric available so if you need a size and it’s not up there to purchase, send me an email. I will make you one.

I know you like to put things in your pockets so all pockets are two layers of fabric for strength.

The wonderful paisley lining is 100% cotton from a local supplier who specialises in saving fabrics from landfill.

***IMPORTANT FOR THIS DRESSING GOWN: I will need one week to finish all the hemming and hand sewing on this dressing gown before I post. Please be patient with me. I am a one woman show and I only have two hands, unfortunately.

For those of you who are not familiar with wool, it does not have to be washed often. It is stain resistant and can be spot cleaned. I will send along instructions. Unless you are very messy, then dry-cleaning is only recommended when necessary, maybe once at the end of the season, before you store the dressing gown for the next winter.

If you are confused or are unable to work out your size, please email me and I will help you. My sizes are cut very generously, so you will likely be in a smaller size than you normally are.

These measurements are of the garment laying flat on the table overlapped at the front by 15cm or 6”. They are NOT of the person wearing the dressing gown.

They are all limited edition and bespoke pieces. I have more of this fabric and can make to order. If you don’t see your size listed, please email me.

*There are two hidden pockets in the side seam both double lined for strength.

*Even the back of the neck is lined so that the wool won’t be scratchy.

*Buttons are all vintage 1940’s-1970’s. The buttons are there to hold the dressing gown closed so it doesn’t gape open or when you are lounging on the couch and don’t want the restriction of a belt.

*The entire length of the front edges of the robe and around the collar is top stitched by hand, similar to a mens hand made suit, so that the collar edges do not roll and always lay flat.

*100% wool, soft, and heavy weight. The wool is bonded in two layers, boiled wool on top of a heavy wool knit.

*A modern designer fabric from New Zealand.

*Shaping at the waist can be achieved with the tie belt
